30 DAYS OF GIVING | 30 DAYS OF FASTING

Ramadan is a holy month in the Islamic calendar

centered around fasting, prayer, reflection, and

community. With an organizational mission to

improve the quality of life for people in underserved

communities across the African diaspora, we saw

this month as a critical time to stress the

importance of giving back. That is why we are

bringing you 30 Days of Giving, 30 Days of Fasting, in

collaboration with the Ansar-Ud-Deen Young Adults

Council.

This is a 30 day initiative where we are encouraging

the community to fast as a way to reflect on how

fortunate we are in our everyday lives to have the means

to eat and drink at our leisure. Additionally, we are

encouraging you to not only volunteer but also

pledge a monetary donation towards providing hot

meals and hygiene kits for charity.

We have a goal to raise $5,000!

With a donation of $1.67 a day for 30 days

or a one time donation of $50.00 or more,

you will be able to help us reach our goal of providing:

2000 Grocery Bags for So What Else? Food Pantry

160 Feminine Hygiene Kits for Interfaith Works Women's Center

and house of ruth

200 Sun butter and jelly sandwiches to Martha’s Table

Each Saturday during this initiative there will also be an opportunity

to volunteer and help with the packaging of these grocery bags and

hygiene kits. Each Sunday the Ansar-Ud-Deen Young Adults Council will

be hosting a Ramadan Series discussing various hot topics in today’s

society!

At the end of the month we will be hosting an Iftar (Celebratory

Feast) to celebrate everyone’s contributions to the overall success of

the 30 day initiative! Details of the Iftar will be provided to all donors

and volunteers later in the month.
